We're delighted to share some exciting news from the Develo team, as our Managing Director, Luke Collymore, has been elected as one of the newest Board Members of Mage-OS.
This appointment is a significant milestone for both Luke and Develo, recognising his long-standing commitment to the Magento ecosystem and the wider open-source eCommerce community. With years of experience delivering Magento solutions and supporting merchants, developers, and businesses, Luke brings valuable expertise, leadership, and insight to the Mage-OS Board.
What is Mage-OS?
Mage-OS is a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting the long-term future of the Magento ecosystem. Built around the principles of open-source collaboration, transparency, and innovation, Mage-OS brings together merchants, developers, agencies, technology partners, and contributors from across the globe to help shape the future of Magento.
The organisation is focused on ensuring Magento remains a powerful, flexible, and sustainable open-source eCommerce platform. By encouraging community-driven development, Mage-OS helps deliver improvements that benefit the wider ecosystem, from performance and security enhancements to new features and ongoing platform innovation. It also works to maintain compatibility with existing Magento extensions and integrations, making it easier for businesses to continue building and growing on the platform.
Beyond the technology itself, Mage-OS is committed to strengthening the global Magento community. Through open governance and collaboration, it provides a place for businesses and developers to share knowledge, contribute to the project's future, and help ensure Magento continues to thrive as a leading open-source eCommerce solution. You can find out more on their website.
A new board for Mage-OS
Following the recent Mage-OS General Assembly, a new Board of Directors has been elected to help guide the organisation through its next phase of growth.
The new leadership team includes President Michiel Gerritsen, Vice President David Lambauer, and Treasurer Jan Orleański. They are joined by returning Board Members Ruggero Landolina and John Prendergast, whose continued service provides valuable experience and continuity for the organisation.
Alongside Luke, Mage-OS also welcomes newly elected Board Members Melinda Humphrey and Ben Marks. Together, the board brings a wealth of technical expertise, leadership, and community knowledge that will help drive the Mage-OS project forward and continue supporting the global Magento community.
Luke's contribution to the Magento community
Luke has been passionate about Magento throughout his career, not only through leading Develo but also through his ongoing involvement in the wider Magento community. His experience working with merchants, developers, and technology partners has given him a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the platform today.
His appointment to the Mage-OS Board recognises that commitment and provides an opportunity to help shape the future of Magento, ensuring the platform continues to thrive as a leading open-source eCommerce solution.
For Develo, this milestone is particularly meaningful. We've supported the Mage-OS project since its early days, and in 2024, we were proud to become a Bronze Partner, further strengthening our commitment to the future of Magento and the open-source eCommerce ecosystem.
As Managing Director of Develo and now a Mage-OS Board Member, Luke will help support the organisation's long-term vision while continuing to contribute to the wider Magento community. His appointment reflects both his personal commitment to the Magento ecosystem and Develo's continued support for Mage-OS, reinforcing our dedication to delivering innovative, future-ready Magento solutions for our clients.
An exciting new chapter
Everyone at Develo is incredibly proud to see Luke recognised with this well-deserved appointment. We’re excited to see the positive impact he’ll have in helping drive the Mage-OS project forward. Congratulations, Luke!
