Why Shopify

A platform built for brands that want to move quickly

Shopify looks after hosting, security and checkout, so your team can spend its time on products, content and customers instead of servers. Its theme architecture and app ecosystem make it straightforward to launch new features, run campaigns and update your store without waiting for a development release.

Custom Shopify themes

A storefront designed around your brand and your customers

We build custom Online Store 2.0 themes using sections, blocks and metafields, so your team can create and edit pages without touching code. Every theme is built for speed and accessibility from the start, with product, collection and cart journeys designed around how your customers shop.

Apps and integrations

Connected to the tools your business relies on

We connect Shopify with your wider stack, including email marketing, payments, reviews, search and marketplaces, and build custom apps where an off-the-shelf option does not fit.

FAQ

What does a Shopify development agency do?
A Shopify development agency designs, builds and improves Shopify stores. That includes custom theme development, app and system integrations, migrations from other platforms, performance optimisation and ongoing development after launch.

Working with an agency gives you a team that understands both the platform and eCommerce, so technical decisions are made with conversion, user experience and long-term growth in mind.
Do you offer Shopify web design as well as development?
Yes. Our designers and developers work as one team, so your Shopify store is designed and built in-house from start to finish. Design starts with your customers and your brand, covering user journeys, wireframes and UI design for every key template, before any development begins.

This means the store we design is the store we build, without compromises being made when a design is handed to a separate development team.
Can you work on an existing Shopify store?
Yes. Not every store needs a rebuild. We start by reviewing your theme, apps, performance and user experience to understand what is holding the site back, then agree a plan to improve it. That might be a theme refresh, removing apps that slow the site down, or new features built into your existing setup.
Do you build custom Shopify themes or customise existing ones?
We do both. A custom theme gives you full control over the design and the customer journey, and is built around your brand from the ground up. Customising an existing theme can get you trading sooner and at a lower cost. We will recommend the approach that suits your budget, timeline and long-term plans.
How much does a Shopify website cost?
The cost of a Shopify website depends on the scope of the project. The main factors are whether you need a custom theme or a customised existing theme, the size and complexity of your catalogue, the number of integrations with other systems, and whether you are migrating data from another platform.

It is also worth budgeting for running costs alongside the build, including your Shopify plan, any paid apps and ongoing development. Once we understand your requirements, we will give you a clear quote and explain where the budget is going.
How long does it take to build a Shopify store?
Timelines depend on the scope of the project. A store built on a customised existing theme can launch in a matter of weeks, while a custom theme with integrations and a data migration will take longer.

We agree a project plan with clear milestones at the start, covering discovery, design, development, testing and launch, so you know what to expect at each stage.
What is the difference between Shopify and Shopify Plus?
Shopify covers what most growing brands need to trade online. Shopify Plus adds features for larger or more complex businesses, including B2B wholesale with company accounts and custom pricing, expansion stores for new markets, checkout customisation, higher API limits and automation tools such as Shopify Flow.

We will help you work out whether Plus is worth the extra cost for your business now, or whether it makes sense later.
Is Shopify suitable for B2B eCommerce?
Yes. Shopify's B2B features, which are most complete on Shopify Plus, let you sell to trade customers from the same store as your D2C customers. Buyers can be set up as company accounts with multiple locations, and you can offer customer-specific price lists, volume pricing, minimum order quantities and payment terms.

For B2B processes that go beyond Shopify's built-in features, we can build custom apps and integrations around your requirements.
Can Shopify sell internationally?
Yes. Shopify Markets lets you sell to multiple countries from one store, with local currencies, translated content, country-specific domains or subfolders, and pricing set by market. Duties and import taxes can be calculated at checkout, so international customers see the full cost before they pay.

For brands with separate teams, catalogues or brand experiences in each region, Shopify Plus also supports expansion stores managed alongside your main store.
Does Shopify support subscriptions?
Yes. Shopify supports subscriptions and repeat purchases through Shopify's own Subscriptions app and third-party apps such as Recharge, Skio and Loop. Customers can choose a delivery frequency, save on recurring orders and manage their subscription from their account.

We help you choose the right subscription app for your products and customise the experience so it fits your brand and your customer journey.
Can you integrate Shopify with our ERP, CRM or other systems?
Yes. We connect Shopify with the systems your business relies on, including ERP, CRM, PIM, warehouse and fulfilment, email marketing, reviews and search. Where an off-the-shelf app or connector covers what you need, we set it up and configure it properly. Where it does not, we build custom integrations using Shopify's APIs.
What is headless Shopify and do we need it?
Headless Shopify separates the storefront your customers see from Shopify's backend, using Shopify's Hydrogen framework or another frontend connected through the Storefront API. It gives you more freedom over the customer experience and can be useful for content-led brands or complex storefronts.

Headless builds are more complex to build and maintain, so they are not the right choice for every business. Most brands get everything they need from a well-built Online Store 2.0 theme, and we will only recommend headless where it offers a clear benefit.
Can you migrate our store to Shopify from another platform?
Yes. We plan and manage migrations to Shopify from platforms such as WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. We migrate your products, customers and order history, rebuild your integrations and design a storefront that makes the most of Shopify's features.

Every migration is tested in full before launch, and we plan the switchover so trading is disrupted as little as possible.
Will moving to Shopify affect our SEO?
A migration to Shopify will change some of your URLs, because Shopify uses a fixed structure for products, collections and pages. With the right planning, this does not have to affect your search visibility.

We map every important URL on your current site to its new Shopify equivalent and set up 301 redirects, carry over page titles, meta descriptions and structured data, and monitor rankings and Google Search Console after launch so any issues are picked up quickly.
Should we choose Shopify or Magento?
It depends on your business. Shopify suits brands that want to launch quickly and keep day-to-day running simple, with hosting and security handled for them. Magento suits merchants with complex catalogues, bespoke B2B processes or integration needs that go beyond what an app can provide.

As we build on both platforms, we will give you a recommendation based on your requirements rather than a preferred platform.
Do you offer ongoing Shopify support after launch?
Yes. Many clients continue working with us after launch. Ongoing development covers new features, theme improvements, app reviews, UX and conversion optimisation and performance work, so your store keeps improving after it goes live.
